In short

Novelwave is an audiobook player for iPhone, developed by Mihai Petrenco (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Novelwave app and this website.

Information we collect

None. The app doesn't send us any information about you or how you use it. It contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services, and it doesn't track you across apps or websites.

Data stored on your device

To work as an audiobook player, Novelwave keeps the following on your iPhone:

This data stays in the app's storage on your device. We have no access to it.

iCloud and sync

If you're signed in to iCloud, Novelwave syncs your library between your devices through Apple's CloudKit. This includes your shelves, audiobook details, chapters, bookmarks and notes, and listening progress. It's stored in the private database of your own iCloud account, which we can't access.

If you connect iCloud Drive, Novelwave creates its own folder there for your audiobooks. The app can only see the files inside that folder and nothing else in your iCloud Drive.

Data in your iCloud account is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Permissions

Notifications

Novelwave can let you know when an audiobook finishes downloading, or when a download fails. These notifications are created on your device.

Photos and files

When you choose artwork from Photos, the system picker gives Novelwave only the image you select. It never has access to the rest of your photo library. The same goes for files: the app only sees the files and folders you choose.

When you contact us

If you email us for support, feedback or a beta invitation, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply to you, and we don't keep it longer than we need to.

If you join the beta through TestFlight, Apple may share information with us, such as your email address and crash reports, as described in Apple's TestFlight terms.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party services, and its fonts are hosted with the site. If you choose light or dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's storage on your device so the site remembers it. Our hosting provider may process standard technical information, such as IP addresses, in order to deliver the site.

Children

Novelwave doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
